Discussion on editing
After looking at the preliminary footage we filmed, we decided that we wouldn't over edit anything. We would keep it within the genre of horror, adding an ethereal effect to the whole sequence. The feedback we got from the rest of the class in the showcase was mostly focused on our over editing. This time we tried to cut out the silly effects and focus more on the cuts.
Dialogue In Film
We have decided to do a voice over in our film where we see Efosa and Jade on the phone to each other. This is because Jade's voice doesn't fit well with the genre and our teach told us that her accent sounds Essex. So we decided to use Chloe's voice instead and also we have made the timing right because before the dialogue was too quick. We did the voice over on garage band and also used a microphone.
there was a problem because we could hear interference from mobile phones so we had to make sure that we cut this out.
After we have added this voice over into our film there is not much else that we need to do. So we are hoping to finish our film by Thursday at 10:50.
Film Showcase
We had our film showcase today were we watched everyone's opening sequence and then wrote our responses to them. For example we stated what we liked most about them and also what we could improve on. We had a number of people that gave us feedback and wrote they wrote and rated the Sound, Characters and Camera etc. on a evaluation sheet.
Most people hadn't quite finished there films for example the sound wasn't in time or the cuts hadn't been put together properly but we took this into consideration and just wrote what we think personal would improve their film.
When we showed our opening to the class we had to stand up and introduce the characters that are in the movie and also say where it was filmed and also we explain that the credits aren't in order yet and there is no sound as we haven't finished that yet.

Organisation activities such as costume and prop lists
This is where we have filmed our opening and also what day we did it, what props we have used on each day, the technical equipment we used and finally costumes and extra props. This helped us remember what we needed to bring to the location of where we was filming.
Organization-Costumes and props
We picked costumes that reflect the genre of film opening sequence we were making. Ours was horror so we had Efosa; wearing a black long coat and black gloves, Jade; wearing a black top with black leggings. Jess wore a greyish dress. All the colours were dark and demure which are appropriate to the theme of horror. The props wear make up accessories which Jess had in her house. We paid close attention to the mise-en-scene because the background and the surroundings gave the audience clues as to what was going to happen next. The applying of the makeup after the appearance of the blush and lipstick. When Jade twirls the knife it's implied that Jade was planning to use this against Jess.
Preliminary Sequence
This is our preliminary sequence. We tried to show the basics of final cut express and show off the fundamentals of editing such as cuts, fades, transitions and effects. We followed the criteria by using the required shots and showing a conversation between two people.
What we've learnt from filming and editing the preliminary sequence is that we don't need to over edit and put so many effects to make a film look good. In our opening sequence we focused more on the cuts and fades rather than the effects. Also we've been able to put a contrast over the whole film which makes it look on the whole a lot more proffessional
GarageBand
We are currently researching diegetic sound and music to add into our opening. We are looking for creepy sounds, e.g. we liked the idea of a jewelry box song, which can actually sound really scary. Also non garageband you can find such a huge variety of instruments that fit our theme. We have mainly focused on orchestral sound effects as we feel they will fit our opening best.
